Rhinoplasty

Nose surgery is a very special form of surgical facial treatment. A nose hump that is too large, a saddle nose, a crooked or disproportionately large nose, genetic or due to an accident, can now be corrected on request.
It should be noted that the nose is the central organ of the face, with both functional and aesthetic components.
It should be noted that the operated or altered nose should fit harmoniously into the face again. It is important not only to look at the details, but to see the nose as a whole. Often, for example, defects in the nasal environment make the nose look unattractive even though it conforms to the norm. Sometimes a nose that is perceived as "too big" is simply due to a lack of volume in the adjacent cheeks and the overall impression improves simply after the corresponding volume treatment of the face. This is also discussed during the personal consultation.
We perform the surgical procedure under general anesthesia. As a rule, access is chosen from the inside. It may sometimes only be necessary to access the nasal bridge (soft tissue fold between the nostrils).
During the consultation, the desired change is discussed in detail by showing your nose in a photo.
Aim of the operation
To realize the harmony of the nose in the face.
Risks
During the consultation, we will inform you about the possible complications such as temporary loss of sensitivity at the tip of the nose, dry nasal mucosa, wound infection, wound healing disorder, etc. The likelihood of complications is higher in smokers, diabetics, high blood pressure patients or other high-risk patients.
After the operation
During the first few days, nasal tamponades are inserted, which may restrict your nasal breathing but will significantly support the healing process. Depending on the extent of the operation, the dressing (Steristrip or possibly nasal plaster) may need to be worn for up to two weeks. Take it easy on yourself in the first two weeks after the operation by not doing any physically strenuous work. Particularly if it was necessary to alter the bony nose as part of the treatment, you must be especially careful in the first six weeks about being touched by strangers and uncontrolled nose cleaning (blowing your nose).
