Lip treatment
1 min read
The lip is very similar in shape to that of your father or mother.
Unfortunately, due to the central location of the face and the importance of this region, we are particularly aware of changes to the lip as a result of heavy use, smoking and sun exposure.
The lip is larger than most people think. It extends from the base of the nose almost to the chin. Encompasses the red and white of the lips.
The red of the lips often loses volume, shape and color and begins to turn inward with age, making it appear narrower.
The white of the lips, the adjacent skin/soft tissue zone, is an unpleasant problem, especially due to the increasing formation of wrinkles after intensive exposure (e.g. sun, smoking).
Today it is possible to treat both zones with different methods in order to achieve a beautiful full lip again.
For the red of the lips, there is the option of volume filling (see Volume/Filler) to achieve a beautiful roundness and shape and thus restore the lost prominence. For the white of the lips, there is the option of wrinkle therapy using laser light therapy and dermabrasion (skin abrasion) using a laser or diamond stone.
Lip filling for the red of the lips and the small wrinkles on the white of the lips can be performed on an outpatient basis, and you will see the results immediately after the procedure.
Treatment of wrinkles in the lip whitening area by abrasion, whether by laser or dermabrasion (= controlled skin abrasion), is also performed on an outpatient basis and requires local anesthesia, similar to the dentist.
After a dermabrasion, you should expect the healing process to take around 1 week and for the redness in the area to be visible for a longer period of time. However, once the superficial wound has healed after the abrasion, you can wear make-up and cover up the redness.
