Breast augmentation
1 min read
Today, there are various options for breast augmentation using implants. The implants of the new generation are of excellent quality and are subject to the Medical Devices Act. In addition to round implants, there are also anatomically shaped (pear-shaped) implants. We generally advise against breast augmentation using autologous fat or hyaluronic acid, as it seems almost impossible to carry out accurate breast examinations.
The most common access routes are either the nipple area or the inframammary fold.
Taking your anatomical requirements into account, we advise you individually and work together to develop options to realize your ideas as far as possible.
Today, the procedure is performed under twilight anesthesia. This has the advantage that the patient recovers much more quickly after the operation and the procedure can therefore be performed on an outpatient basis in some cases. As a precaution, we always insert a Redon drain to drain off any wound fluid. You will be given an antibiotic for 5 days as infection prophylaxis and usually also thrombosis prophylaxis on the first day.
Goal
The aim of the operation is a beautifully shaped breast that fits your body measurements. Your wishes, especially regarding the size, will of course be taken into account.
Risks
As with any operation, there are risks such as wound infection, post-operative bleeding, capsular fibrosis, etc. These can be reduced to a minimum through appropriate behavior, but can never be ruled out 100%.
After the operation, you will be fitted with a sports/support bra, which you should wear for four to six weeks, depending on the type of operation. This is the conservative part of the treatment and its effect should not be underestimated.
