Conservative cruciate ligament therapy
< 1 min read
Not every torn anterior cruciate ligament must or should be treated surgically. After a thorough examination, the attending physician discusses the results of the examination with the patient, taking into account clinical and radiological diagnostics. If it is jointly concluded that surgery is not indicated due to the type of injury, the age of the patient, the professional and sporting challenges and the degree of instability, the conservative treatment regime is initiated.
Starting with pain therapy and cryotherapy (cold applications), an attempt is made to restore pain-free movement of the knee joint through intensive physiotherapy and targeted muscle-building training.
