Breast Augmentation
Nowadays, there are several ways to enhance breast size using implants. The new generation of implants are of excellent quality and subject to the Medical Devices Act. In addition to round forms, there are anatomical (pear shape) implants. We generally discourage breast augmentation using the body’s own fat or hyaluronic acid, because preventative breast check-ups are almost impossible.
The surgical access site can be chosen between the nipple area or in the breast fold.
After taking into consideration your anatomical situation, we will advise you individually and work together with you to develop ways to implement your ideas as much as possible.
The surgery is performed under sedation. This brings the advantage that the patient recovery is much faster and the procedure can, in some cases, be performed on an outpatient basis. As a precautionary measure, we always insert redon-drainage to drain off any wound fluid that may develop. You will receive a 5 day course of antibiotics as prophylaxis against infections and usually a thrombosis prophylaxis on the 1st day.
The goal of the operation is beautifully shaped breasts that suit your body measurements. We will, of course, take your wishes into account with regards to size.
Risks
As with any surgery, there are risks, such as wound infection, bleeding, capsular fibrosis etc. You can reduce these to a minimum by an appropriate behaviour and following guidelines. However, they can never be eliminated 100%.
After the operation you will receive a sports/support bra which, depending on the type of surgery, should be worn for 4 to 6 weeks. This represents the conservative part of the treatment and its effects should not be underestimated.
